Jr. Traditio Teacher (6th Grade Literature, Theology & History)

Location: Kennewick, WA

Position Type: Part-Time

Start Date: Fall 2025

Coram Deo Academy is seeking a thoughtful and passionate Jr. Traditio Teacher to lead 6th grade students through an integrated course in literature, theology, and history. This class emphasizes deep reading, rich discussion, and thoughtful writing. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about engaging students with classic works of faith and story—especially C. S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia, Christian missionary biographies, and Story of the World: The Modern Age—while also training them in writing through the IEW method.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide students through substantial reading assignments and lead class discussions
  • Teach literature (including Narnia), theology, and modern history with biblical integration
  • Introduce students to missionary biographies (Christian Heroes series)
  • Lead students in writing instruction using IEW methods
  • Cultivate habits of careful thought, clear communication, and Christ-centered imagination

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Theology, History, Education, or related field (preferred)
  • Familiarity with C. S. Lewis, missionary biographies, and Christian classical education
  • Passion for discussion-based learning and student writing development

Coram Deo Academy is looking for thoughtful and grounded Substitute Teachers for Logic Level classes (grades 6–8). Substitutes at this level should be confident in leading older students, managing classroom discussions, and continuing academic momentum when a full-time teacher is absent.
