Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher (Full-Time)

Coram Deo Academy is seeking a full-time Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher to join our faculty beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year.

Coram Deo Academy is a growing classical Christian school committed to partnering with Christian families to cultivate wisdom, virtue, and a lifelong love of learning. Our teachers view education as discipleship, teaching every subject through the lens of God's truth while equipping students to love what is true, good, and beautiful.

This position teaches Tuesday through Friday during the academic year. Mondays are reserved for planning, grading, parent communication, and professional responsibilities completed from home.

Position Summary

Fourth grade is a pivotal year in a child's education. Students are developing greater independence, tackling increasingly rigorous academics, and learning to think more deeply while continuing to grow in character. We are seeking a teacher who can confidently guide students through this important stage with wisdom, joy, and high expectations.

The ideal candidate will cultivate a classroom that is orderly, engaging, and filled with wonder—one where students are challenged academically while being known, encouraged, and shepherded toward maturity in Christ.

Responsibilities

• Teach all core fourth-grade subjects using the school's classical Christian curriculum.
• Establish and maintain a well-ordered classroom marked by consistency, kindness, and respect.
• Inspire curiosity and a genuine love for learning through engaging instruction.
• Challenge students to pursue academic excellence while providing appropriate encouragement and support.
• Build meaningful relationships with students and families.
• Communicate proactively, professionally, and graciously with parents regarding student progress and classroom life.
• Collaborate closely with fellow faculty members and administration.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other responsibilities associated with the position.
• Model Christian character and cultivate virtue in students through both instruction and personal example.

• Christian character that provides students with a consistent example of godliness, humility, and integrity.
• Exceptional classroom management skills that foster a peaceful, joyful, and highly productive learning environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in partnering with parents.
• A passion for helping students delight in learning while maintaining appropriately rigorous academic expectations.
• The ability to balance grace with firm, consistent discipline.
• Strong organizational skills and dependable follow-through.
• A teachable spirit and enthusiasm for classical Christian education.

Teaching experience is preferred, though we welcome candidates who demonstrate exceptional potential, strong subject knowledge, and a desire to grow as classical Christian educators.
