 Board Members

Henry Johnson - Board Member

Henry Johnson is a long-time resident of the bi-county and Tri-City areas.  He and his wife, Sandy Johnson,  were college sweethearts at Eastern Oregon College and moved to north Franklin County in 1964 shortly after their marriage that year.  He was a farmer and was engaged in that vocation as well as additional agriculture industry-related pursuits for the entire time since.  He continues to provide limited professional ag-consulting services in semi-retirement.  He and Sandy have two grown children, six adult grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Henry has a heart for Christian service, having been active in several local evangelical churches over the years, and has held roles as teacher, deacon, and elder.  In addition he has been significantly active in other community purposes.  He held offices in the Farm Bureau, the Columbia Basin College Foundation, Bailey Memorial Youth Ranch, Benton-Franklin Council of Governments, Columbia-Snake River Irrigator’s Ass’n., Second Harvest, and Fields of Grace, a local faith-based gleaning and food relief organization.

Henry received a pilot’s license in his youth, and he and Sandy are still fascinated with flying as well as boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities.

Henry can be reached here by e-mail.

George Booth - Board Member

George Booth has served on the Board of Coram Deo Academy since 2017. George owns and operates Booth and Sons Construction and holds a degree in Management and Operations from Washington State University. Mr. Booth brings practical experience and insight along with a passion for building culture (and buildings) to the Board.

George has been a Tri-City resident since 1996. He graduated from Southridge High where he met his wife Amanda. They are the parents of six children, four of whom are enrolled at CDA. George currently leads worship for his church, leads a missional home group, is on Mirror Ministries’ property team, and assists in various other community service projects.

Mr. Booth spends his free time taking his wife on expensive dates, playing with his children, spending time around his table with family and friends, carpentry, gardening, reading, fishing, playing guitar, playing cornhole, and watching the Seahawks. He also enjoys weekend getaways with his wife, wine tasting, and trying new bourbons, whiskeys, and Scotches.

George’s philosophy could be summed up as: Held the right way, narrow truths create the broadest of hearts.

Mr. Booth can be reached here by e-mail.

Chris Kuperstein - Board Treasurer

Chris Kuperstein is the Board Treasurer for Coram Deo Academy. Chris brings finance and IT experience from both small and large organizations. He also serves as the treasurer of an irrigation association in Badger Canyon. Chris graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Human-Centered Design in Engineering and also studied accounting at Eastern Washington University.

Chris grew up in Port Orchard, where he met his high school sweetheart, Laura. Together, they are raising three children, two of whom attend Coram Deo Academy. Chris and Laura are involved in a local reformed church and serve in various capacities.

Chris Kuperstein enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, and tending his children’s farm animals. He is a member of the U.K. and Spokane Tolkien Societies. Chris and his son attend Trail Life, where he also occasionally volunteers. Chris and Laura also spend time advocating in the community for foster children and parents, assisting and mentoring where possible, and speaking to legislators on their behalf.

As Treasurer, Chris searches the scripture and other texts granted to us by the church fathers and tries to find creative ways to keep Coram Deo Academy focused on Christ, while keeping costs low, and the educational structure as simple as possible.

Chris can be reached here by email.

Mitch Yoke - Board Secretary

Mitch grew up in Deer Park Washington where he first met his future wife, Cheryl, in grade school. Shortly after high school, they were married and together, raised three children who have blessed them with six grandchildren. Mitch and Cheryl enjoy serving others and spending time with their extended family who share similar interests including camping, water skiing, and snow skiing.

Due to an employment opportunity, they moved from Spokane to Kennewick in 2006 where they have worshiped and served in the same local church since that time.

Mitch attended Columbia Basin College and Eastern Washington University where he graduated with a degree in business administration. He spent the majority of his career working in the grocery industry and retired in 2021.

Mitch’s observations of the quality education obtained through the Classical model have instilled in him a heart of service to do whatever he can to help promote and support Classical Christian education in the Tri-Cities. He has served on the Coram Deo Academy board since February of 2019.

Eric Robinson - Board Member

Eric Robinson was once dead in his trespasses and sins, having followed the course of this world, and being nothing but a child of wrath and a most disobedient son.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved him, even when Eric was dead in his trespasses, made him alive in Christ.

Eric now knows that the resurrection is true because he is living proof that the dead can walk again.

Since that glorious day, he and his wife, Leslie, have had seven children and three grandchildren, with likely more of the latter on the way.  The Lord is good!

He and some like-minded families are prayerfully planting a new local church, Christ Church Tri-Cities.

Eric currently works as a director for Cigna and as a cybersecurity professor for Columbia Basin College. He enjoys hiking, snow skiing, listening to (some) country music, and reading semi-decent books.

Eric has been on the board twice before since the founding of CDA in 2004. His current term began in September of 2023.

Eric can be reached here by e-mail.

If you are interested in serving on the board, you may apply here.
